*** OT *** Looking for iMac info

I'm a pc user but am considering buying my mom (81 years old) an iMac for Xmas. She's sharp as a tack and loves technology, but there is virtually no one in her retirement community to help her through the frustrations of the Wintel experience, so a pc is out. I looked at WebTV, but think it is a weak alternative, particularly with access charges of 29.95/mo. Can anyone help with the following?

1. From personal feedback from a senior citizen, was the iMac really "toaster like" in setup and use?
2. Is the internal modem v.90 compliant?
3. Are there any native USB printers (don't require a $70 adapter)?
4. Is there anywhere on the Web to buy an iMac at a discount; are there any good active promos?

Thanks in advance for responses. I'd like to give mom email and the Internet experience, but don't want to give her a heart attack in the process <g>.

Frank
