Hi John,

I think your observations are critical and terribly underestimated by many people. Make no mistake about it, if AMD and Cyrix lose their fight to use the MMX trademark, this will be a huge financial blow to both. One of the smartest things INTC ever did was call the Pentium, the Pentium instead of the 586. Using Pentium PRO after Pentium was already established (and mostly paid for) was also an excellent decision. Trademarks/tradenames can be some of the most valuble assests a company holds.
