Peter, boxing your shorts also seems to be a way to play the uptrend on some wildly overpriced stocks. I shorted XLNX and had about a 5-10% loss when I boxed it. Eventually, this thing will collapse but the question is when. My current guess is about one more month. I'am just going to wait for any sign of weakness and then sell the long. If it is not the top, then I'll just re-enter the box.

Works even better if the long is in a tax-deferred account since the short has to be in a taxable account and any loss is deductible.
