Paul, >>>There are millions of books written/typed every year - but the number of good ones is no larger than before computers.<<<

Have to disagree with you on this. True - the computer is only a tool and without the basic skills - nothings is going to come of it. Just as a bamboo pole versus one made of fibre glass in my hands would not take me anywhere - but in the hands of world class pole vaulters - they are going to jump 15 to 20 feet higher. Same type of thing could be said about a stradivaris (sp?)violin .... any way - you get the drift.

However, with respect to computers and the writing of books is concerned - let's not rush to judgement. People have been writing books now for several hundred years (500 at least) and people have been writing books on a computer for the last ten or twenty years.

Just as we have more scientist living today than there have been scientists on earth previously (cumulative) - the scorecard (concerning their achievements) has not been tallied - yet.

This is what Intel and the Internet paradigm is all about. It is something completely new - unprecedented. There is nothing we can compare this to from our previous experience.

However, this does not stop the know it alls - the Michael Burkes, Alan Abelsons, McManisses (ggg), GVTuckers (ggg), and other negative souls to give us their pronouncements on the historic perspectives as they see it.

heck, I don't thinks we have seen anything yet! There is a lot more to come.

Regards,

Mary
