Dan--Again we agree..for the most part!

Surely they have taken all potential negatives to the bottom line in the 96' Q4 earnings period, as do many companies prior to a major change in focus or management. No question, OpenROUTE is a "special purpose" corporation, and they are smart to give it a clean start.

I'm surprised that you think profitability is unlikely by close of Q2 97. In your prior posts, you felt they may even have posted black numbers with their Q4 96' release?

I am very bullish on the potential growth available for remote access companies as information bandwidth increases along existing wire (both cable and twisted pair). Why are you so confident that Proteon will sell out of such a dynamic market? They have a good cash position and have long since been a leader in routing software (OEM'd to many major players). With the current hardware development strategy, they are poised for a good run of growth and market penetration. I think the long term opportunity far out-weighs the short gains generated by selling the company's Intellectual Property. It is my hope that they will only sell the company jewels if they are unable to execute a good business strategy against much larger competition. If that proves out with the new product focus then it makes sense to partner in an effort to maximize share holder return.

Any additional insight into this company's future plans are appreciated.

Jack-
