Hi Chris. You can bet AKA and ORI will be around for some time to come. They have survived 20 years of every kind of market you can have, attempted take overs, recessions, etc and they always survive.
With there cash positions, no debt and good proven properties it is just a matter of time when we will be on another up swing. Certainly a good buy time if one is looking to invest more money into the market place.

How BYG and TYG are still trading is beyond me. Just proof that the stock exchanges and securities commissions in Canada aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell. The proof of how broke they are and the questionable management of the companies must be known by them. What took place at the ORI AGM last month was a spectacular display of there incompetency. As you may know they attempted to do a proxy take over of ORI. How the board of 2 companies and a lawyer could come to a meeting with that intent and not know the requirements of proxy voting is beyond belief. The two boards should resign if not be sacked and the lawyer should be strung up the way he disgraced the two companies by his incompetence. ORI are/will be taking action to ensure that a further attempt will fail. If they try again before next AGM the rules are different and even more difficult to accomplish. These are desperate companies and are certainly looking for ways to get them selves out of the financial quagmire they are in.

In this vain, if stock holders are really interested in or have concern for companies they have invested in I have this recommendation. 1. Get your stock registered so you will get all company info and can vote without any problems. 2. If your stock is in street form at a brokers make sure you have the papers signed that instructs the broker to send you company releases etc as they occur. This also ensures the broker will send the necessary documents to vote by proxy. 3. If your stock is at home in street form you would be wise to give it to your broker to keep for reasons of (2) or get it registered. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT IF YOU WANT TO PROTECT YOUR INTEREST IN ORI AND AKA YOU SHOULD TAKE THESE STEPS RIGHT AWAY IN CASE THERE IS ANOTHER SHORT NOTICE ATTEMPT TO TAKE THEM OVER. This holds true for any stocks you hold.

I was at Jon Bergvinsons' wedding last week. He has married a really fine woman and should really help him get on with a new life. It is 3 years since his wife died of cancer and has been a long uphill struggle for him to put his past behind him and start anew.
Rush out today everyone and buy 100000 shares. More votes for us.
