I think you're in err. I checked with a personal financial planning at my firm and the IRC doesn't allow trading of options because option trading takes place in the margin account, and as you posted, IRA's don't allow margin accounts. With in an IRA, you can write covered calls and do protective puts. If you can trade options in an IRA, I'm sure all the firms would allow it. If they didn't it would be to their disadvantage in trying to attract new customers.
