Don, the new Kodak DC260 provides 1536 x 1024 images and comes with 8MB of memory. True or not, Kodak claims "up to 95 images" can be stored in that 8MB. They also advertise quality reproduction to 8x10 and offer a USB port for fast downloads.

According to IDC, by the year 2000 flash memory will OEM at less than $1 per MB. So ... $30-40 worth of OEM memory inside the camera will go a long way toward satisfying the perceived needs of your imaginary wedding photographer. And nothing keeps manufacturers from including a CF slot ... even if 98% of users won't ever need it.
