-- Reinforces commitment to Iomega customers throughout Europe
Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM) has invested IEP 400,000 in its new 100-strong Customer Satisfaction Centre in the Citywest Business Campus in Southwest Dublin. This new Customer Satisfaction Centre, measuring 22,500 square feet, has just opened its doors as Iomega's headquarters for European customer service and technical training.
Citywest Business Campus is Dublin's first dedicated out-of-town corporate office park. With its convenient location, open spaces and ample parking, the campus has become a magnet for companies investing in Dublin. A number of high technology companies have opened operations at Citywest, including Nortel, Netscape, Millennium Software and Xilinx, as well as leaders from other industries, such as Merck, AIB and Irish Life.
Iomega first opened its European Customer Satisfaction Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin in November 1995 to support its European customers with technical inquiries. These operations have grown from just 15 to almost 100 employees in 3 years, and the importance of the Centre's activities continues to increase.
Iomega's new European Director of Customer Satisfaction and General Manager of the company's Dublin operations, John Gilmore, commented:
"Dublin offers an attractive infrastructure and the quality staff that Iomega needs to run its business. Customer service has always been a priority for Iomega, but this recent investment represents a major step forward. The new facilities are truly state of the art. And the multi-lingual, multi-skilled workforce in the Dublin area makes it an excellent location for investment by international companies."
The Dublin office includes three main services: a Call Centre to answer customer inquiries, a Training Academy for Iomega's employees and distribution partners, and a Customer Quality/Testing facility for testing new and revised products prior to their release on the European market.
The Call Centre responds to calls from customers across Europe who dial in on free phone numbers as well as toll numbers (which receive priority in the call queuing system). Support is also provided via fax and e-mail. In addition, future plans include an online support system which will provide customers with real-time service and will also provide the company with valuable customer feedback on products. This online information will be fed into product development teams in the US and Europe, helping Iomega continue to develop superior products for the removable storage market.
