Scott, It isn't just the energy consumption...it is the shock resistance that is the real difference. Hard drive or cd are both sensitive to shock and there lies the beauty of RIO's no skips. No moving parts gives the added bonus of extremely low power demand. I think this one is going to be a big winner. Still looking for nice run when it hits market. If flash memory cards fall in price like I anticipate, RIO will be even a bigger bargain when 60 min ram card is only $30-$40. Still, I concede the little IBM hard drive is amazing.
