RE MRK SPLIT: Your comment makes sense. I forgot about authorization. Didn't they do something last spring -- April, I think? Also, the proceeds from Astra-Merck were estimated at $4-5 billion which they were going to use for stock buy-backs. While it still seems to me like we are in a perfect situation for a split, as you say, they would have to authorize it. Thanks for your advice.
