If I am right, the Y2K is now kicking in with a final frenzy of hardware purchases, and the semi market will be very strong for the next 9 months. Of course there will be a yo-yo effect later, but who cares for now. <VBG>

What I want to know is if a wafer shortage suddenly kicks in, can WFR raise prices, or are they locked in? I think fab utilization (read wafer consumption) will rise rapidly as the only way to produce the needed semiconductors on short notice is to run the fabs full bore.

Thanks,

Carl
