A spokeswoman for Datek initially blamed the problems on heavy trading volume. But she said the troubles weren't caused by shortcomings with the capacity of the Iselin, N.J., company's systems.

"Datek Online did experience some isolated delays last week, which resulted in an increase in call volume. These isolated delays were due to a technical glitch that has since been fixed. These problems were not capacity related and they haven't experienced any residual delays thus far," Melissa Fox, the spokeswoman, said. "The e-mails that you're seeing on Silicon Investor and Yahoo and other such chats must be some residual e-mails that you're seeing come in," she said.

isolated delays ?????? is she serious ????? bwahahahahaha

this is pathetic - datek's own people are so out of touch with the magnitude of the problem or in denial (for the last few months no less !)

the only thing they seem to have fixed is the posting of an order to their activity page - the order itself may not show up on ISLD as seen on Level 2 for minutes - often the order isn't even executed

Datek's been the Bermuda Triangle of Trading at the open for months now

ps datek - they aren't e-mails - they're posts - where does datek get these people ?
