Mohan...I just now heard the Nightly Business Report and they interviewed an analyst from Prudential who said Compaq may have trouble delivering on all their promises about selling Direct, like DELL does.....He even felt, and the narrator of this segment said other analyst echoed the sentiment, that CPQ's strategy may BACKFIRE..He said something to the effect CPQ's channel partners may feel slighted and push the IBM and other box-makers merchandise more than CPQ's...It was also stated on this news-piece that product on the shelf, in the stores, gets "old" real quick in the computer business...Eckart Pfeiffer then came on stating they were not going to drop the channel and go entirely internet....

All this tells me is CPQ is still going to struggle because they can't imitate DELL no matter how hard they try.

DELL RULES!!!!!

Regards, George
