At least one customer.................................................
I ordered an SGI O2 on Friday, December 13th (a lucky start, huh?), and was told it would ship in about 3 weeks. This placed my expected receipt sometime during the first full week of January. I then started following SGI Stock in general, and this StockTalk string in particular. I got somewhat despondent during the big stock dip earlier this week, especially with SGI's record $750 million in back orders. Discussions here led me to believe I'd be lucky to see my new O2 by March, if at all, since SGI might not recover from their back orders before being put "out of business" by Windows NT (What? Me Facetious?). Sadly, an outstanding product does not an outstanding business make. Well guess what appeared on my doorstep today? So at least one customer got his O2 right on schedule, $750 million in back orders or not! Of course, maybe I'm just only an insignificantly "lucky" exception. :-)
