Hi bob, SI Diamond on Jan. 6 released news that they completed their third generation high luminance lamp based on diamond field emission technology, and state it will be shown at DisplayWorks in San Jose. I'd appreciate any thoughts you have on this. Barb

SI Diamond Announces Completion Of Third Generation
Diamond Field Emission Lamps

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 1997-- SI Diamond Technology Inc today announced the completion of its third generation high luminance lamp based on its proprietary diamond field emission technology.

The diamond field emission lamps display very high luminance (12,000 fl) and utilize a round cathode with a thin film of diamond-like carbon acting as emitter. The initial product venture for the lamps is projected to be large area, full color television speed, outdoor displays.

"In achieving this milestone, we have proven that our diamond field emission technology is maturing to a level that opens the door for a number of product applications, particularly in the outdoor signage area," said Dr. Zvi Yaniv, SI Diamond's President and COO.

The Company plans to demonstrate the new lamps in a forty-eight (48) pixel, fully matrix addressed device at DISPLAY WORKS 97 which is scheduled for January 29 and 30 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.
