More questions: Since the premier advantage of the plastic cell is flexible design configuration, wouldn't a manufacturer attempt to take maximum advantage of this from the gitgo? A large, flat cell designed to be used in various laptops? One competitive advantage of the plastic battery is flexibility of design. So, is it reasonable that only a small generic cell with applications requiring multicell packages is to be produced because of the expense of producing custom single cell designs? What I think: we are underestimating the possibility that newer, revolutionary products are in the works.
