A brokerage downgrades the companies it covers in the shoe industry: Thursday November 12, 10:27 am Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT-BT Alex.Brown cuts shoe companies NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - BT Alex.Brown said on Thursday it lowered its rating on the stocks of four shoe companies. -- Stride Rite Corp. (NYSE:SRR - news) cut to market perform from a buy. Stock off 1/16 at 9-15/16. -- Maxwell Shoe Co. (Nasdaq:MAXS - news) cut to market perform from a strong buy. Stock off two at 10-1/4. -- Timberland Co. (NYSE:TBL - news) cut to market perform from a buy rating. Stock off 2-1/4 to 43-3/8. -- Wolverine World Wide Inc. (NYSE:WWW - news) cut to market perform from a buy. Stock up 8/16 at 13-7/16.
