Don't let me dissuade you from going with an assembler

After reading your most excellent post I had to look around the room to see if you weren't hiding somewhere here.. then I realized the horror.... HE'S IN MY BRAIN.. I take back the horror part..its really kind of comforting.

You've articulated my *exact* impressions of the momemt better than I could have myself. My largest anxiety is getting NT setup and working in the shortest amount of time. Don't forget my entire computing experience has been on a Macintosh and thats only been about three years I'm imbarressed to admit. To start building my own NT machine ( with my level of real experience) with 2 HDD and five partitions goes contrary to my prudent nature. I'm sure I would eventually prevail. but at what cost to my nervous system? Thats the other side of this debate.
Your points about commercial assemblers are undoubtedly correct. The closest I've gotten to having all my spec quoted on from one outfit has been from Daves suggested Minotaur.com. They don't have the Aopen mb. I asked if I could supply it since thats the only item they don't offer. And their SC 750A cases are on backorder. So there you go... you're predictions are happening like clockwork with these vendors.

After I get this machine under my belt theres no question but to build the next one myself. But for this one ( I feel) there's just too much self impossed pressure to get it online quickly <lol> and precisely configured in NT not to have a pro do it..... inspite of all the administrative difficulties. I think its just a question of finding the right pro. But I could be wrong and I'm surely going to find out.

Thanks again for your uncanny insights...

Next question... what are we having for dinner tonite? <gg>
