Similarly, the Dallas Morning News... TEXAS WATCH - (Dallas Morning News), Dec 6, 1996 Texas based Benchmarq Electronics Inc. jumped $3.75 to $24.75 amid speculation - fanned by Internet postings - that the company could earn as much as 25 cents a share in the fourth quarter and may be a takeover target . Analyst Darren Von Behren of ComVest Partners Inc. in Dallas downplayed both ideas, saying that he still expects Benchmarq to earn about 17 cents and that a takeover is highly unlikely. Benchmarq, which designs and makes integrated circuits, traded as low as $6.25 in February and below $10 in September.
