The VD model is eating its cake and still having it. If I just want to short on margin than I can have it with Datek which is my current broker. In august when my Ligand warrants dropped to almost nothing I had no buying power left and could not do any short sale to reduce the damage to my portfolio. I think the VD model did not have enough buying power for the complete GERN short sale. And after tying up buying power with GERN shorts it did definitely not have enough buying power to short 2000 shares of EntreMed. Andreas
