The DogFather continues to say that the offshore rig picture is not getting better. Deepwater rigs are affected too.

yes, it can cost a bunch to get the rig from the North Sea to Brazil. depends on how fast they want to get it there. It may be possible for the rig to sail under its own power -- very slow, and I am not sure if the Ocean Alliance can do that or not (some can, some can't).

The fastest way to get it thre is via heavylift carrier -- likely take 30 days, maybe less and cost $4-6 million, depending on the mood of the heavylift owner who owns ALL nine such heavylift ships in the world.

The Dog Light remains bright yellow. I see trading opportunities only. To those of you who take comfort in buying these stocks for "the long haul", I remind you of folks that said the same thing circa 1986. Of course it's only been 12 years...maybe the "long haul" is 24 years. And the 1986 buyers DID have a nice chance to sell in 1997, but I bet they didn't.

This is a cyclical business, treat it as such.
