Hmmm - a surprise? Now you got me going. If the surprise is that Cisco will finally announce native NDS integration then that wouldn't be much of a surprise (it would be nice to officially hear).

You are right in that the schema has not been extended in NDS for the components that these manufacturers want to centrally manage via NDS, but, you must realize that extending the NDS schema is extremely simple. The hard part would be the actual interface development of the switches/routers into the NDS schema. It will not be hard for Lucent and Nortel to have a product delivered by the end of Q1/99 if they put any effort into it.

There will also be some push by Lucent and Nortel to beat each other in bringing the NDS solution to market first (makes for better press).

So you got our ears up - whats the surprise?
