RE: I just think the internets will go kicking and screaming because they are so heavily shorted, and heavily played long by speculators and the dumb public. When the DOW is sitting on 7500, they will be hitting new highs, IMO. Then they roll in a tidal wave and THEN we DIVE.
I hope you are wrong on this one.
Remember, the shorts are not a source of demand for these stocks unless they get up 5-8% on the day, that is when the hot shorts have to get out.
If they get week, which "SHOULD" happen, in any market weekness, the stocks could enter a no bid situation. As you know, in that situation, No shorts get in and no longs get out. Net Net, Money is lost quickly.
Though I think what you are saying could happen,
Big spikes in individual stocks often go down as fast as they went up.
