guess you've found the perpetual motion financial machine in dell, eh?

Buiness roars in good times and bad? sorrry, it don't work that way. when co's are strapped for cash and can't borrow the money cause the banks won't lend it, operations like yours don't buy more PC's, they just go outta business. Besides, we've been thru the cycle you're talking about already, not enough productivity gains left to be gained by ramping up more IT spending now.

most will be spent on programming geeks to fix Y2K probs in mainframes.

Oh, yea, and then throw in that the other PC makers will be pushing and shoving for the same sales...
