As part of risk management, it is necessary to collect and analyze any pertinent data to ensure that one can take appropriate action whilst hoping and waiting for ones hopes to materialize.
Doug --
We all have different investing styles and to use a set of criteria from one style that's appropriate for another usually doesn't work -- at least not for me.
Since my goal is to hold long, I don't lose much sleep when the stock drops a quarter point or even a point or two as long as I know the fundamentals are in place and I'll reach my goal in a reasonable time frame.
If I followed the charts as you do, I know for certain I'd be powdering my nose when the train left the station.
Totally off topic, I'm going to Huntington Beach tomorrow to join a group of industry representatives at QualMark's test labs for a full morning of demonstrations on their advanced testing equipment. I just discovered this micro-cap today at the AEA conference --- having been told about it by a good friend --- and it's definitely captured my attention. One analyst has the following numbers:
1997A Revs $10.6mil; EPS ($0.17) 1998E Revs $15.3 mil; EPS $0.22 1999E Revs $22.4 mil; EPS $0.39
'98 Q1 $0.01A, Q2 $0.05A, Q3 $0.07E, Q4 $0.09E. '99 Q1 $0.05E, Q2 $0.08E, Q3 $0.11E, Q4 $0.15E.
At any rate, I figured after 3 days at the show I should have a few suggestions. My others are SDLI and CREE.
Later --
