Hi Steve:

Welcome to this board. Have been enjoying your comments. I have a
substantial portion of my portfolio in SMIT and have added shares
as recently as yesterday on the dip.

Here are my own earnings numbers for FY '97:
The forward projections are mine and mine alone.

FY 1997: 1st Qtr. ending 8/96 .02 as reported
2nd Qtr. ending 11/96 .10 as reported
3rd Qtr. ending 2/97 .15 my projection
4th Qtr. ending 5/97 .18 my projection

TOTAL for year .45 my projection

I feel these numbers are conservative and could go as high as .60.

My share price projections for 1997 are:

Minimum high: .45 x PE of 35 = $15.75 per share
Maximum high: .60 x PE of 45 = $27.00 per share

Also, there are some things going on in R&D that could add an
additional kicker to these numbers.

So that you know from where I am coming, I am a professional
individual investor. By "professional" I mean that my fulltime job
is managing my own portfolio.

I think SMIT is an extraordinarily well managed little company with
impeccable financials. I am most impressed by their willingness and
ability to leverage their proprietary technology by partnering with
major corporations for R&D and marketing.

SMIT will be discovered by the big boys in due time.

Would be interested in your, and other people's, thoughts on earnings.

Mike
