HOW IS IT TREATED?
An antibiotic, usually benzypenicillin, should be given by injection immediately meningococcal meningitis or septicaemia is suspected. The earlier the treatment is given the better the prospect of recovery. General Practitioners are aware of the need for rapid treatment and of the advice from the Chief Medical Officers that they should carry benzypenicillin with them.

Kinda debunks the nay-sayers theory about the need for Neuprex to be administered ASAP or it is ineffective. Seems to me UK already knows about the need for speed and GPs in the UK may also carry Neuprex if approved, unless something (like a need for refrigeration) prevents it.
