Peter,
It is not what the Harley is worth, or what the Ford Explorer costs, what I'm talking about is that When vehicles mfg. in the USA & Canada leave LA they have been inspected and meat all Japanese regulations and rules. When those same vehicles arrive in Japan the Rules have changed. The rules can be changed back for a pay-off.
We all know the apples form Washington state are among the best in the world. It has taken 25 years to get Japan to not declare every shipment "sub-standard". I know of a man who imported Japanese plum tree twigs, grafted them to native US stock with a contract that stated Japan would buy (sight unseen) all fruit produced. This was 20 years ago, last I knew he had sold 600lbs. (from 5 acres of trees) . He pass about 8 years ago
Japan is anti-import. Nothing has or will change or will untill we quit buying their cars and electronics.
Should we even discuss brokerage houses or insurance companies?
