Al:
I spent a few years in the NWT (13 months at Eureka which is roughly 800 miles south of the North Pole on Ellesmere Island) and when the sun goes down in NOvember.... it stays down until it gets seen on the horizon for a few moments in February....right...24 hours of darkness for roughly 3 months. Now that's a LONG night! Besides the darkness, temperatures are not hospitable for outdoor activity...average...THAT IS AVERAGE...temperature for the month of January when I was there was -36 degrees Celsius (roughly -33 degrees Farenheit). Lots of movies and playing pool, so that is basically what I meant by the darkness being a factor. I doubt that any work will be done on Yamba Lake until the sun's up in the spring. Dark season would not be a full 3 months there (considerably further south than Eureka), but still cold and dark most of the day.....cold ALL DAY!!
So, having said that......what about warmer climes like ALberta and the aircraft deal, and, of course, Mexico and Cuba. Hard to believe that there is really NO news!!
Have a good weekend.
Dennis
