No correlation has yet to be found between human energy consumption and atmospheric temperature. We have good data back to the late 1800s.

A very good correlation has been found between sun spot activity and global temperature.

Right. That's a couple pretty definitive statements to be making without any supporting evidence, David. You wouldn't care to have a citation handy that provides some support for this, would you? Do you know what's happening to the Antarctic ice shelves? There's more than one piece of evidence.

Not that it matters. Nothing much is going to be done about global warming until the evidence is totally unambiguous, probably not even then. And the pressure to burn more fossil fuel will grow as China and India continue to develop. It's unfortunate that the only experiment that will convince everyone is to just let greenhouse gases continue to increase in concentration and see what happens, but politically, that's about all that can happen. If thermohaline circulation shuts down, the experiment will turn out to be a little more radical than we'd like, but we'll muddle through.

Cheers, Dan.
