The news you are referring to was released on Sep 28/98. The company filed a notice with the TSE to 'make a normal course issuer bid to purchase, from time to time, as it considers advisable, up to 864,485 of the outstanding common shares'. This amounts to approximately 5% of its outstanding shares.
