Scrapps: You wrote, I had to bounce around from news article to company web site and so on before I was able to fully understand they were only offering ADSL service - Avtel actually made it sound in their PR as if it were their technology, while all they do is provide high-speed internet access to a limited geographic area (DSLink Services will be available to residents and businesses within three miles of one of their local telephone company's Central Offices) What happened to their stock price today is absolutely insane. Avtel Business Summary Avtel Communications, Inc. is a provider of broadband network services integrating voice, data and video solutions for individuals and corporate customers. For the six months ended 6/98, revenues fell 12% to $23.7 million. Net loss totalled $3.8 million vs. an income of $173 thousand. Revenues suffered from a reduction in sales by affiliated distributors for Matrix. Earnings also suffered from a decrease in gross profit margin, and an increase in salaries and wages. Recent Earnings: For the 3 months ended 09/30/98, revenues were 10,589; after tax earnings were -1,209. (preliminary; reported in thousands of dollars) Milk
