this has to be one of the biggest mm scam jobs of all time. i know this company well. they are a small isp in central california. its not big news for an isp to offer asdl. all the big ones have been doing it for years. this company is a joke, rehashing the benefits of adsl modem technology and passing it off as if it new news. AVCO has under 25,000 subscribers and have yet to earn a profit. not even wothy of being a pink sheet. and many of you were buying it up as if they just reinvented the wheel. you will be lucky if you don't lose 50% of your money overnight depending on what nasdaq decides to do. if you want to invest in high speed inet technology take a look at internet ventures or ATHM; not some regional isp. good luck to those who weren't too greedy. if you re-entered this thing multiple times then you desevre the fate of a "fool".

""AvTel Communications, Inc., (Nasdaq:AVCO), and its Internet
service provider subsidiaries Silicon Beach Communications
and WestNet Communications today announced the launch of its
DSLink service, providing high-speed Internet access over
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL). ADSL is a new
modem-based technology that provides a dedicated connection
to the Internet that is up to 50 times faster than
conventional modems. It works on an existing phone line and
allows the sending and receiving of voice and data
simultaneously. The user is always just a click away from
the Net with no waiting and no busy signals.

DSLink services will be available to residents and
businesses within three miles of one of their local
telephone company's Central Offices. Currently it is
available in downtown Santa Barbara, with further deployment
through Goleta and Carpinteria due by the end of November.
Customers will incur additional charges from their local
Telephone Company, in addition to their existing line
charges, and may select a service offering from Silicon
Beach for as little as $30/month.""
