November 12, 1998 07:53 PM
WASHINGTON, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Uranium producer USEC Inc. filed on Thursday an offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission for $500 million in senior notes maturing on an undisclosed date.

The Bethesda, Md.-based company, which was privatized by the U.S. government on July 28 through an initial public offering, said it will use net proceeds to repay a portion of the bank debt it incurred in connection with the privatization.

The offering will be managed by Merrill Lynch & Co. and J.P. Morgan & Co.
