Another Etrade story: At 10:07 I put in a buy for 1000 shares of PJTV at 2 5/8. The ask price is 2 5/8. It just sits there. I go over to Datek and buy 500 shares at 2 5/8 (about 5 secs). Etrade still just sitting. I buy another 500 shares of PJTV (5 secs) at Datek. Etrade is just sitting. I go to Etrade and attempt to cancel the trade at 10:32. At 10:40 no response to any of my Etrade requests. At 10:42 I get a message from Etrade that the trade was executed. During this whole time the ask stayed at 2 5/8. I have had this same thing happen to me at Etrade several times. Place an order and it just sits there and then when I try to cancel it they execute the order. The Etrade person who called me and left a message: I tried to call her at the 800 number but each time they said I would have to wait at least 10 minutes before the call would go through. I guess I will email her my complaints. I tried to call her directly but did not get her (a non-800 number). Does any other Etrader have these problems with trading at Etrade?
