Lone Star: You may want to read the entire article to get the complete perspective on why the project was pulled. Would you buy a new television network's services if it limited its coverage and interests to a narrow geographic area and content segments? I doubt that I would. In a nut shell that was the type of market test used to evaluate the smart card covered in the article you cite. As technology evolves, applications, uses and acceptance grow. Some grow faster than others. I could only imagine the reception that the first checking system received in the market place when the populace was asked to take this silly piece of paper with your name on it as equal in value to the hundred dollar bill in your pocket.
