Cr Suisse FBC comments this AM ...met w/mgmt yesterday. Co. is not changing near or long term guidance, they feel good about end mkt demand, product cycles are stong and opportunity for margin improvement is still very good. Several new mkts will contribute to 3com's revenue stream in 99 but the 3 with the most impact will be ...voice over IP, wireless capabilities and cable modem. Curr. qtr is on plan top line growth is expected at 30% favorable gross margin impact due to product mix and controlled operating expenses. 12 mo. PX target $40. Ranked Strong Buy. Best, Joe
