Will do.

So far the only feedback has been negative, but unfounded as you will see in your review. The private responses have also been negative. They prefer to attack me since I have little knowledge about photonics . That should be clear from my crude attempts to back engineer SR. The opponents don't look at the apparent developments and see how they could be true. This is hallmark of narrow mindedness. To claim that someone's demo was fraudulent because you can't see it, is far worse than trying to see it and failing. The trick with success is to assert the truth of an apparent falsity and then find how false can actually be true.

Specifically, the demo of 11/3 seemingly accomplished what no DWDM setup anywhere can do. The company claims that costs are of an order less and the SR system is retrofitable. If you had a specious device, would you generate sufficient press such that people like you and I would know? There is no technically unimaginable achievement here, it is just engineeringly innovative.

The company's reticence makes a great deal of sense. The right way to achieve business success is to just start selling your device and let the market discover the details. If you aren't a Lucent or NT, the attitude is that you can't have a viable product. Without the big name sponsorship the world will beat a path away from your door because the "risk takers" as they like to call themselves, prefer to let others take the risk so that they can either imitate or steal the success. This is also pervasive attitude among the big science institutions in terms of ego capital. If something isn't discovered there, it isn't true. Both aspects are part of our authority driven society.

The reaction indicates that this technique of SR may have extraordinary potential. If Templex is on the same discovery path, then I would say that there are some serious issues developing here for the entrenched networkers. I don't just mean for companies like CIEN. I mean the entire ethernet oriented establishment. DWDMIP has already threatened it vaguely with Pure. If the cost and capability of Pure is suddenly and substantially improved, ethernet will no longer make sense. I sense that is exactly what is going to happen.
