Tommaso, I checked one more thing about M1, M2... looking at the growth rates in 1991, I see (jan 91- jan 92) 10.1% m1 growth, 2.9% M2 growth.... Somewhere they ought to have annual growth rates tabulated, I just did the calc. '95 also looked like a disconnect between the two. So, I think it's too simple just to blame it all on Greenspan's printing press, and pick some statistics that seem to support the thesis, without an understanding of the details behind those statistics. It may be that the M2 increase is more due to the stock market boom itself than to Greenspan, in some way...
