bbruin, I wouldn't attach too much importance to the exact error
message text > the message I get is: "Windows cannot play the sound
C:\windows\media\done.wav. Your sound card may be in use"


Sometimes error messages point you the wrong way.
But, if it plays the MS jingle, the card was OK
at that time (bootup). Maybe there is something
hardware that needs to be reset after a *.wav is
played - and it is not happening. The reset only
happens when you power down?
