<<Before you blithely accuse me of ranting - will you please point out where I said you stated a doctrine from your religion.>>

I'm not even sure I can say, blithely without giggling. Now, I may have misunderstood you, but I had no intention of misconstruing your position. So, I'm wading back through some posts to see where I could've gotten the idea I did.

The tone of our first contact was respectful and focused on a topic that did not have religio-nonreligion lines drawn for the discussion.

jbe mentioned to you that I am religious. It seemed to me that you drew a line in the sand and began addressing me as someone on the other side. As one thing led to another you made many directed comments based on the fear of and reference to religious doctrine.

<<I would not want to be placed at a clear disadvantage for dissenting from the state religion....I want to have the freedom to have a different concept of life and God than you....More to the point is the nature of the policies which are formed from the moral ideas which devolve from this knowledge of life's purpose....Do these policies find a mirror in enough voters to become nationally important? ...if a doctrinal state is imposed on me from above... ....without invoking God's law.>>

<<- will you please point out where I said you stated a doctrine from your religion.>>

Finally, I said no such thing:

I merely said that I had not stated any doctrine from my religion. The reason that I said that, is because I felt you were making a lot of reference to your fears that my position was founded on religious doctrine.
