Nothing wierd about it, IMO. It's those damn "circuit breakers" on the NYSE that halt program trading anytime there is a miniscule move in the DJIA.

As unbelievable as it may seem, they still use point move (50,100,150, etc.) limits instead of a percentage move. It's totally ridiculous, since the increments go way back to when the DJIA was around 2000. It protects the investors who don't have instantaneous access to news and trading, but at the same time keeps the market from undergoing natural corrections.

They need to adjust the triggers to be more realistic with current market averages, IMNTHO.
