DALLAS (Jan. 9) BUSINESS WIRE -Jan. 9, 1997--Dallas Semiconductor
Corporation (DS/NYSE) today reported record net sales of $288.4 million
for the year ended December 29, 1996, up 24 percent compared to $233.3
million for the same period last year.

Net income for 1996 was also a record $38.4 million ($1.37 per share),
up 5 percent compared to $36.7 million ($1.32 per share) recorded for
1995.

This eases my short-term concerns. I thought they might fall a little short this year.
