Katherine!!!,

You should be ashamed. <vbg>

INTC's total capital spending, even in good years, is barely enough to support AMAT,

And that amounts to the total sales of ... how many would you say... about the bottom 1950 of the 2000+ SEMI members...

INTC is busy reducing headcount.

Do you know a large company that isn't. As Gene has pointed out, they've just had 2 consecutive record quarters. Let me repeat, in case you missed that the first 5 times. Intel corporation has just set a consecutive quarter of record sales the last 2 quarters in a row. Geez, If we have to tell you again, I'll suspect that you may be another infamous female bear who hasn't been posting much on this thread lately. <g>

There are indications that Japan is getting its act together. The PC industry has solved its channel stuffing problem. The sales are real.

I would dearly love it if the bears are correct. I don't own as much of the leaders as I would like to. Nothing would make me happier than to see them back down at this cycle's lows. but I don't realistically expect that to happen. ...and I don't intend to chase them at current or higher prices. Such is the fate of my attempt at market timing. :-(

Have a good week end,
Ian.
