If all the box makers build inventory hoping to capture 30-40% of the market there will be a lot of excessive inventory after Christmas. Intel will have had 2 record quarters with there next record being the size of future cancellations. I think all the box makers want to get there orders in to get there share of the processors being built, they can cancel unfilled orders later if things do not look as good as they hoped. Intel did this last year to AMAT, ordered 300mm and then canceled due to over capacity, this year there are so few orders for capital equipment that there is no need to order ahead. AMAT and other equip companies are hoping for turns business, orders they can fill right away since backlogs are dwindleing, not very bullish. I hope ther is good news Tuesday.
