Canada's Natural Resources Minister Ralph Goodale has signed letters of intent with Argentina's Minister for Trade, Commerce & Mining, Alieto Guadagni, and Chile's Mining Minister, Sergio Jimenez, in ceremonies in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile respectively.
Goodale is leading a nine-day trade mission to Argentina, Chile and Peru with a commercial delegation of 50 Canadian mining, energy and -forestry companies looking for investment opportunities in the region.
The accords commit the Latin American countries to enter agreements with Canada to share knowledge and expertise on the sustainable development of minerals and metals and to encourage increased investment flows and expanded trade in minerals and mining equipment, and goods, services and technology.
