So far with an initial sum of $15000 in a margin account, I have made $5000 in two weeks. In another account I made $5000 on a $30000 non margin IRA account. A typical trade will net me $125 to $250. I just play the spread. Some stock get bought & sell 2 to 3 times during the day. I stick with boring stocks with no news pending but trade with pretty good volume -- 100K to 300K. Once a while I sneak in a buy of a DELL or CSCO and make a quick 100 to 200 bucks. I try to end up the day in cash as much as possible. Trade thru Brown & Co. --- $5 for market trade, $10 for limit trade. Keeps my day going. I have to spend 1 - 2 hours each night researching what stocks I am going to concentrate on the next day.
