This could turn out to be a far more serious question than simply dealing with Sadam. The credibility of both the U.S. and the U.N. are at stake. This sort of 'yank their string' foreign policy by Iraq (given credence by the U.N.) cannot continue indefinitely. If the U.N. is to serve any useful purpose in the future it cannot be seen to coddling up to dictators and the U.S. cannot be seen to be handcuffed by such obvious ineffectiveness. Sadam may or may not have won again - but will it cost the world the U.N.?
