I am ready to complete my due diligence report on Pacel corporation and post my third and final installment. So far I've painted a pretty picture, right? Perhaps too pretty. After all, compared to 50-cents a share (which was only about 8 weeks ago!) PLRP is down 80%. Let's see, what's the technical term for describing that? Oh, I know: Sucky! So it's probably not realistic that all of my DD would have a positive slant.

I was very kind about my description of Visual Writer in part 1 of my report and I have no regrets about that. In part 2, on Visual Writer marketing, I may have left out one negative opinion, and that is the Pacel webpage. First of all, a web page is a marketing tool, right? Well, it's a nice webpage--it looks nice. But have you noticed that not all of the choices on the left-hand side of the screen are active yet? The choice “White Papers” would have been of real interest to me, as would the choice “Partners,” but both are inactive. Also, there's no ability to download anything from the webpage. How about a crippleware version of Visual Writer? The entire Visual Writer--all four modules--is only about 10 Mbytes. Or forget crippleware, how about giving us Visual Worker outright and let us download some sample files that were made in Visual Builder. [Hey, these ideas are great! I should email Dave Calkins all of these instead of complaining to you guys :-) ]

My biggest beef with the web page is the poor write-up describing Visual Writer. Yes, you heard me right, I'm complaining about the poor write-up! Taken from the Pacel webpage: “Visual Writer POWER-SMART Suite is a modular, goal oriented, Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that can be used in minutes by non-programming staff in workflow based, client-server environments.” Does that connote to you a user-friendly system? Does it put an image in your head that is clear and vivid? For me it seems like a statement at odds with itself: How does one visualize a program that “can be used in minutes” that is also a modular Integrated Development Environment tool? So I think more could be done to make the reader see that Visual Writer is simple and powerful. “Power-smart”, “Self-AWARE”, “3-dimensional thinking”? I don't want to hear about it (unless I click very deep into some technical section of the site).

My concern is that a reader will read a page or two and think, “Power-smart? Self-AWARE? What's that? Gee, Visual Writer must be very difficult to have these fancy terms.” And that, in my humble opinion, is not good.

Perhaps I'm being too hard on the good ol' Pacel webpage but those are concerns that have crossed my mind and I thought I'm add them to the thread here.

Once again the length of my lead-in exceeds my original intent (these lead-ins were supposed to be short and sweet--This one was neither!). Therefore, without further ado, see my next post for part 3 of the DD.

Chris
